What I pretty much want to avoid is making the Everfree Forest just a big, featureless forest. If we're gonna make the forest, we need to be ready with stuff to put in it (Moon castle, Ursa cavern, Dragon lair, Zecoras hut etc.).

But as I've said, these are all things we should work on after Ponyville is completed. Ponyville should be our main priority for now.

Ok, i've checked out the area. It's extremely mountainous, and the only structure I could find was the castle at the south end. But, again, that shouldn't be a problem.

As for the mountains, it's nothing a little bit of TNT can't fix :)

So, Should we start digging down to sea level today?

By the way, I found this "Ponycraft" server today. In the link are a few pictures from their takes on the subject.
While Ponyville doesn't exactly seem like their forté, their Cloudsdale looks pretty impressive.

Well, that'll be helpful. We shouldn't copy them exactly, but we could use their things as reference points and models.

That's what I thought. See how others interpreted the material. I'd love to have our Ponyville a more cartoonish look, though - would be awesome if we could make that work. I'm all for using tons of colored wool!
Speaking of which - sheep farm, anyone?

Also, from this thread:

Hmm.... Now that I think about it, how are we gonna do the Poison Joke?
May not be as cool as actual blue flowers, but wouldn't blue wool (Yes, it seems I'm a fan) inserted into the grass work?
Hm - how are we going to create Everfree Forest anyway? Darker grass would be awesome. We could use Pine trees for Everfree to give it a "darker" look, though. Maybe rarity them trees up a little.

I have no idea how to make a sheep farm...I don't even know if you can. We could constantly have people on wool duty, searching for wool over trade and over land though.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Hopefully grass will be able to be put on more than just dirt, but if it is we'll just have to checkerboard the area with blue wool and dirt with grass on it. But, we shouldn't be worrying about Everfree yet. Let's do Ponyville, Sweet Apple Acres, and Fluttershy's cottage first.

First we need to clear out the area Ponyville is supposed to be situated in. Use your best judgement, Give. I'm going to be occupied during the following weeks so I won't be able to help out with Ponyville for now.

Well, I won't be on too much during the week, for the next few weeks. Only on the weekends. Once school is over though, I'll be working full force.

We won't need to buy any roses or red dye. I've got nearly 4000 of them.

I guess I'll start picking up random yellow flowers, then...

Also, here's a list of dies if you need reference.

Also, about the sheep farm.
I have seen videos on animal farms, usually connected to a grinder. Apparently it's even possible to spawn cows, sheep and pigs underground.
Basically what you need is a typical mob spawning room as if you built a mob tower, but instead of dirt or cobblestone, you need grass blocks on a large, well-lit area. Just watch the video already! ^_^

Also, you'll have to do it by hand: according to minecraftwiki.net, sheep don't drop wool when drowning or being killed by cacti/lava etc.

Also, don't forget:
1. Dye sheep
2. Hit sheep
3. ????
4. PROFIT!!!

Well, I may switch to that. But I want everypony to be able to see the Poison Prank plants, not just people who use Painterly.

And the donations would be great, thank you.

(Two of the best episodes, In my opinion. *Spoilers* Mental Breakdowns everywhere!)

True, but I don't think it would be sufficient to just get blue flowers for the Poison Joke - I mean, basically everything in the show is brightly (or at least variously) colored, often not matching the actual building material. I think it would look way more pony-ish if we used wool as a major mat.

Remember, we can't use magic to make this. Ponyville was founded by Earth ponies.

EDIT: WHOA! The area is really hill-covered.
