Vanquish is quite possibly the most over the top fun 3rd person shooter I've ever played.

"Monday Night Combat"? What an inspiring name...

You haven't left us much leeway as to what 3rd person games you happen to own. For instance, the first I'd recommend would be Red Dead Redemption, but you might already have it, and then we'd play guess the game Will doesn't have for a while...

Star Wars: Battlefront (1 & 2).

Both are brilliant, but I prefer the maps that are in the first one.

The gunships were pretty cool. :D

I missed the Kashyyyk Islands map when they left it out of the second one. And Cloud City with the original Jedi Starfighters.

You haven't got any other Destroy All Humans games? I love the first two.

And Red Dead Redemption, if you have any affinity for the cowboy western feel.

Alternatively, if you are broilicious enough to own an original Xbox, you should probably get Brute Force, which apparently is very good. Hell Metal Arms on that console is pretty good too. As is Rogue Trooper (also on PS2). So yeah.

^^This^^

The gameplay is unique, and I love Sam. His one-liners (*throws a robot away*"You are last years model") and the way he lights one up if you get into cover for literally 5seconds, since the whole game tends to be fast paced is a great experience.

Monday night combat is just TF2+DesktopTowerDefence. It has it's charms but it got old for me quite fast. Don't know if it was worth buying...

Look up "Lost Planet". I loved that. Too bad even the old version made video cards cry and now I can't play it on my laptop. Lost Planet 2 is more multi based (or so I heard).

Mass Effect is indeed a great choice, but only if you like a game that is also narrative-driven. What you say to that old bum on that nameless planet will make or break your day.

Splinter Cell is also an evergreen title in the genre.

Mass Effect is my favourite 3rd person shooter series, ever. The gameplay was revamped in Mass Effect 2 so the combat is more fluid and satisfying, so if you don't feel like playing throught the first one, you can jump straight into the second. That said, I would highly recommend playing the first since I found the story to be brilliant.

Both games are available on PC and the 360. The PS3 only has ME2 available, but it has all of the DLC included, and an interactive comic to brief you on the story so far.

I'm trying Dead space right now, I find it intresting but it's not like a horror game as it tries to be. Maybe Amnesia just scared me to much but I can't find that game scary.

still it's fun!

Brute Force was one of my favorite games of all time, second only to FarCry: Instincts. Actually, if you have an original Xbox OR a 360, you can play FC. It's first person, but a very good one. It's a great combination of Splinter Cell style stealth and assasination and Halo blow-up-everything-ness. And you get to fly..... a HANGGLIDER! While mowing people down with a SMG. Now I'm so excited about FC I'm gonna write a review about it!
