It's old but gold. If it could help you out we've probably chucked it in here.

Tree Village

Post by tanisjihanis » 15 Feb 2011, 11:09

Hi, Tanis here, and I would like to start my first project!

HERE IS THE BLUEPRINTS:http://s1126.photobucket.com/albums/l603/tanisjihanis/

Some of you may have tried trading with me, and found that my mineral amounts are, well... Nonexistant most of the time

I'm more of a nature person for minecraft. (WOW, what a shocker! A nature person in MINEcraft)
But anyways, I would like to propose my first project which would be a gigantic tree village shaped like a minecraft tree.

I have used graph paper to map out the specs for this village, and here is what I found:

Potential number of occupants: 120
Maximum Extended Height: 108
Maximum Extended Width:84
Tree Trunk(hollow with stair case in the middle): 5 12*12 Blocks

and now for the log count: 0ver 1000. (16 stacks at minimum)
But the even bigger problem will be creating the leaves for this massive structure.
With cauldrons, we can now make leaves, but each one takes 3 saplings and 3 dirt total (3 dirt+2 saplings to make 2 grass blocks, and then a grass block and a sapling to make the leaf block)
Now some of this will be done with normal trees, but we will need leaves to fill the gaps, and complete the tree
If I could get mod help that would be great!

I figure that although this will take time, it IS do-able. I have had experience doing this in single player (albeit with any resources I needed)

Now to ask you guys: Will you help me with this? Is this a good idea?

I need your feed back! Thanks!

Ok, so there has been some dispute about where we are going to be putting this Village. i have decided to change the location so as not to be too close to other cities. If anyone has a large open space that is easy to get to, then please notify me, and give directions to get there from spawn. For now, please just gather materials:
Bonemeal
Saplings
Logs
Leaves

Thanks!

Ok more specs on the village

Total tree sapling needs without mod help: as many as possible. 30 stacks= 3 stacks of leaves
So saplings are much needed!
I agree with vallorn's assessment of our tree needs, and i will commence building the HOOUUUUUGANOURMOUS
tree farm promptly.

Anyone that helps will of course be given premium outer plots in the Tree, starting in order of those who volunteer first. The tree will have 4 Average Citizen levels.

Ummm... When I say near aerotip, it's going to be right outside the front, where the obsidian letters over the water are.

i would personaly not build it near current towns or cities. this will reduce Griefing in "insert name here".

come to think of it. what is this called? TreeTown could be good... but would atract a certain Fire Daemon whose name i shall not speak.

It would probably surprise you to know that Blackadder made a Treetown on the first server ;3

It was pretty nice too!

Probably my favourite town on the first map, after Alantis. :)

I will be finding a new location for the village shortly, if you have a large open area and directions from spawn to that area, then please feel free to post about it!

Also, I think i could convince Blackie not to destroy Branchscape (?) on the spot. :D

I think you if bribed him it would keep the threat away for awhile. But i recommend a fire brigade always on stand-by.. because you never know who may not agree with Branchscape's ideals

Alternatively, carry out construction while submerged in water.

It definitely won't eliminate the risk of Black-induced fire, but it at least lowers the chances. :P

I tried to build a giant tree once, on the old escapecraft, before the resets.

It didn't last very long.....

Didn't it get burned down twice?

I remember that the community got together to rebuild it after the first time and no more than a day after it was done it got burned down again.

I recall it got burned down right after I joined the server (Please note there is no correlation between these two events, I swear) and before I got a chance to see it. I did see the recreation though. No real idea how it compared to the original, however.

HAHA- wait, what?

Yes I will be employing a fire brigade. I am requesting that no one burn this down, as there will be people living in this one. I think that only vets could even burn this down, because of the restrictions in place, and i hope that those of us that are vets are responsible enough to hold back that urge. The restrictions will be NO fire or lava within 100 blocks of the structure.

-Also, how are my blueprints? :D

I remember all that used to be there was Blackadder's shack plus possibly others. First time I saw it was when me and Beltom teleported in to find a TNT block had been placed in the entrance - that was literally just before we discovered the TNT bombings in Justice Town, plus others.
